Choral Composer Amplify Project

My choral piece ‘The Dusk of Thee’ has been selected by Consonare Choral Community to be recorded as part of their Choral Composer Amplify Project.

This sounds like a fantastic initiative that will share high-quality recordings of their professional choral ensemble singing new music by emerging composers. I can’t wait to hear how they interpret and perform my piece!

‘The Dusk of Thee’ was commissioned by the Royal Philharmonic Society, as part of their Composers Programme, for Cheltenham Music Festival. Its journey to premiere was a classic Covid-related tale: delayed composing due to lockdown inertia on my part, premiere date postponed from 2020 to 2021, and then finally performing vocal ensemble changed at the very last moment due to positive cases amongst Merton College Choir singers, the choir originally scheduled to perform the work. The Carice Singers stepped in heroically at the last moment to save the day!
